yes I am here to chat not to start anything. I would just like some thought/ opinion. I am not a motor man. but I have talk to a few. everyone that i have talked to have said that we need to get away from the gov. and go to a plate. I was told either a red or silver. This I think will take the rpm rule out of the picture. that way we do not have a little one dq because he or she is bent something to cause it ect. There is a few little ones that are in north ms. that have no one to race with because they are just getting the class started. Maybe we all could go to a plate that way we dont have to worry about the rpms and taking a chance on the gov. breaking and getting one of these little ones hurt. also a gear rule and a tire cir. tire rule. this will also allow to move up thru the plates with out getting another motor. thanks for input

I agree with you on the fact that the governor can be somewhat inconsistant but w/o it and with the plate, how high will these engines turn? We've got to remember we're asking 5 yr olds to run these and too much speed at that age would not be a good thing.
I like the gear and tire rules but am afraid the engine rules will begin to creep towards another blue printed class and we'll begin to lose the intent of this class.
While we're talking rules, has anyone ever considered requiring the wide bumpers on the rookies?

no I talked to tom at arc. he has a red plate that is .325 or something like that. it is half of the cab. size. we are not looking for the speeds of purple plate. but we dont want to slow them down from where they are now. we may have to play with the gear to get the same speed out of it. I dont know. the tire rule in my opinion. I dont think should be 35" just my opinion. . the wide bumper i agree with. my kiddo has the wide bumper. I think they all should have one. my kiddo run up on the back wheel. luck that he let off and didnt ride on up on her. but my opinion the junior box stock rules with red plate. 34 1/2" tire. 10 rear wheel. with the proper gear. dont think we need to stretch tires when we can get speed from a gear.

Ok the red plate had been tested at the new track at bryam. They are very happy with it. I believe it allows the motor to turn about 4300-4400 rpms . They will be using a 14/62 I believe for that track. I sure hope that you guys go to the red plate as well. And this will be safer. A gov. Will brake.

CCRACING,
I'm sure Mr Ronald has been thinking about this. And he will probably let everyone know what GMP will do sometime around the banquet or shortly afterwards.
It would be nice to get away from the gov. I always worry about it moving or something change'n between the start of the race and tech after the race. I don't want Sawyer to get DQ'ed for a RPM rule.
As far as the gear rule I thought the 14/62 and the 4300rpms would be a little fast but then when I saw the karts running up in Byrum it looked like they were a little slower with that set up. Or maybe it was the fact that the restrictor plate makes it where they don't go from 0 to 34 mph in 3 seaconds LOL! I know Sawyer liked it. And the lap speeds were only 32 to 34mph which is right about what they are at GMP.
Also I think it would help them on the starts because when they punch the gas the plate doesnt ROCKET them into the kart in front of them. It takes a second to build up and get going.
All I know is that it takes a act of Congress to find a yellow motor that still has a gov on it. And all of the new yellow motors coming into the country don't even have a place on them for a gov. And I think that for anyone thats getting into the class that wants to run the yellow motors now will have a problem getting them. I know we did.
Just my 2 cents.
