South Louisiana, South Mississippi & South Alabama Racers!
After numerous comments, suggestions and conversations from/with you, we are very excited to announce a new racing series dedicated to serving all of the racers in the Gulf South region.
While there are several key ingredients that will make this series a success, first and foremost…it has to be about you, the RACERS. We are fortunate to have some of the best racers in the country right here in South Alabama, South Louisiana and South Mississippi and we are anxiously anticipating the 2010 FIRESTONE - Gulf Coast Tri-State Series. We promise to remember that this series is (and always will be) about the RACERS.
The second ingredient to making this series a success is SPONSORS. As you can see from the title of this thread, we are very pleased to announce that FIRESTONE has come on board as the primary sponsor of our series and we look forward to working with FIRESTONE to make the Gulf Coast Tri-State Series “THE” Series of the South.
In addition to FIRESTONE, we are also pleased to announce Competition Karting, Dyno Cams, Trac-Tac, American Power Sports and Burris Racing Bodies-By Maynard as sponsors of the Gulf Coast Tri-State Series. We are currently in discussions with other karting vendors and hope to make those sponsor announcements in the coming weeks.
To all of our SPONSORS, we promise to never forget that the money and merchandise that you provide to our racers is a critical part of making this series a success. We thank you for becoming valuable members of our series and due to your overwhelming support, our series is ‘starting on the pole’.
The third ingredient to making this series a success is to offer our series racers a wide range of TRACKS and racing surfaces that guarantee to test their driving & set-up skills at each of the 6 tracks. Having said that, listed below are the locations and race dates of the six (6) tracks that have partnered to join the 2010 FIRESTONE - Gulf Coast Tri-State Series.

In addition to their regular racing program, The Cajun Indoor Nationals will host four (4) ‘Invitation Only’ races for FIRESTONE – Gulf Coast Tri-State Series Racers at next year’s event. In order to qualify for one of these 4 ‘invitation only’ races, you must have entered/raced in at least 2 of our previous series races.
There you have it! 6 really cool tracks that are sure to offer ‘something for everyone’. The fact that we will finish our series at in indoor track (Cajun Nationals) is ‘Icing on the Cake’.
There will be an ‘open tire rule’ (slicks only) in the 13 points classes but if you want to run in either of our ‘Pro Races’ that we will conduct at each track, you will need to have two/right-side FIRESTONE or Vega tires on your kart. Once again, our series racers will be able to run ANY slick tire that they choose in the ‘points classes’ but FIRESTONE’S or Vega’s will be required for the right side if you choose to run in either of our ‘Pro Races’. All 6 Jr. Pro and all 6 Sr. Pro races will have GAURANTEED MINIMUMS, every race weekend.
During this process, there have been multiple meetings with all of the track owners (and more cell phone conversations than I can count) and while we are still working out a few of the details, we will post a 2010 FIRESTONE - Gulf Coast Tri-State Series web-link in the near future.
While this series was conceived by racers in South LA, South MS and South AL, we are looking forward to having our ‘cousins’ in Central/North LA, MS and AL, as well as Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida joining us for the 2010 FIRESTONE - Gulf Coast Tri-State Series. (In case you were wondering, I have already started working on the ‘long haul awards’)
South Mississippi, South Alabama and South Louisiana racers…you asked for it…you got it!
7 months and counting!
