Ladies and Gents,
I just completed the final points update but plz allow me to clear up one particular item. If you rec’d a ‘tech’ DQ at any time during the season, per our rules, you were issued 10th place points (12), even if only 3 karts were running in that class. Also, if you rec’d a ‘tech’ DQ, per our rules, this race cannot be used as a drop and is outlined in yellow in the points breakdown.
Congrats to all of the 2010 GMP Points Champions!
Zachary Winstead - Rookies
Connor Okrzesik – Purple Flats and Purple Champs
Michael Lehmann – Blue Flats
Cody Karl – Blue Champs
Ryan Deakle – Gold
Austin Parker – Jr. Champ Clone
Landon Woods – Lite and Medium
Rusty Cooper – Heavy
Paul Wells – Super Heavy
Trey Fox – Sr. Champ Clone
Jason ‘Coonie’ Page – Sr. Champ Flathead
William Wilson – Clone Flat karts
Congrats also to Connor Okrzesik and Landon Woods for winning championships in two different classes.
We also had 7 GMP Feature Race Track Records broken on Saturday. Congrats to:
Treyce Capers – Purple Champ
Kyle Tanner – Blue Champ
Brandon Parker – Jr. Champ Clone
Eric Wilkerson – Medium
Blake Knight – Sr. Champ Clone
Jessie Dobbins – Sr. Champ Flathead
Chase Cooper – Clone Flat Karts
Finally, as a few of y’all may have heard, Saturday was my last day working at the track. I told Ronald at the beginning of the season (before the ICE-Breaker) that this would be my last season working with him and unfortunately, the time has come for me to retire! (I’m sure some are y’all are applauding right now).
Before you hear any kind of crazy rumors or anything, I did not have any kind of ‘falling out’ with Ronald. I consider him to be a good friend and since I gave him several months notice, he has promised me FREE sno-cones and cheese-burgers every time that the gates are opened at GMP. Yum-yum!
To all of the friends that I have made in kart racing, I have enjoyed watching you and your kid’s race over the past couple of years. We have several young drivers that have a TON of talent and I would not be surprised to see a couple of these kids racing on T.V. in a few years.
I thank y’all for your friendship and I’m sure that I’ll see y’all at the track every now and then…. just not EVERY other Saturday.
YEE-HAW!
