Greetings Race Fans! GMP will be back in action this Saturday (July 10th).
Gates open at 1pm, Practice begins at 3pm and Qualifying will begin at 5pm.
As you know, we have moved the starting times back due to the heat and while most of the classes will still qualify, we are going to split the Jr. Classes each Saturday and let half of them qualify and the other half run Heat Races (to give the Jr. drivers extra seat time).
For this Saturday, all of the adult classes will qualify and we will add Rookies, Purple and Blue to the qualifying line-up. This means that Purple Champs, Blue Champs and Jr. Champ-Clones will run heat races. We will swap these Jr. classes at our July 24th race.
5 days and counting, jt

Racer25,
Some would agrue that with two rounds of practice, the track gets blacked in pretty good. I thought that most racers liked the 2 rounds of practice (I know that I used to) but if most would like just a single round, we'd like to hear about it.
Most adult racers and many of the Jr. Racers prefer to qualify. Based on the feedback that I get every week, I can tell you that the majority of the racers that talk with me... prefer to qualify. Ronald went out and bought almost 100 transponders for just this reason.
As for the time to qualify versus heat racing....it ain't even close. We can qualify the same number of karts in about 1/2 of the time (or less) that it takes to run heat races.
I hope that this gives you our perspective on things and if none of this makes sense, track me down this weekend and I'll try to explain it better.

I don't think the idea of one practice is a good idea.... You can't tell anything about the track the first round.... and I prefer to qualify a heat race in the adult classes would probably just cause more wrecks in my opinion
